Leopard

Leopardo

Description

The leopard has golden-yellow fur with black rosettes, allowing it to blend into grasslands and forests. It is a stealthy and agile predator, often seen climbing trees. Leopards are solitary animals and primarily hunt at night. They are known for their strength and ability to carry prey up trees to avoid scavengers.

Habitat

Leopards live in a wide range of habitats across Africa and parts of Asia, including savannas, forests, mountains, and even deserts.

Conservation Status

Leopards are listed as vulnerable due to habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and illegal hunting. Conservation efforts focus on protecting their natural habitats and reducing poaching.

Why I Chose This Animal

I chose the leopard because of its powerful and graceful nature. I saw one at the zoo and was amazed by how silently it moved. Its spotted fur is also really beautiful!
